Meet the Team

Jonny Wainhouse

Jonny

Leeds Rhinos Community Development Officer. Jonny is a Leeds lad born and bred; passionate about Leeds and Rugby League. He recalls watching the Rhinos as a child in the South Stand with his dad and his dream was to one day play for the team he loved. Sadly this was not to be, however as the door was closed on a playing career for the club another door opened and Jonny became a development officer for the Rhinos in 2004. During his time at the club Jonny has gained experience of working within primary schools, secondary schools and amateur clubs.Now Jonny works closely with Leeds schools to develop secondary schools rugby throughout Leeds. He is also responsible for planning and managing the Leeds Rhinos Activity Camp programme.Aside from the Rhinos, Jonny is still involved in the professional game and plays for Hunslet Hawks.

Sian Hills

Sian

Women and Girls Rugby Development Officer. Sian joined the Rhinos Community team in January 2010 and is responsible for developing opportunities for women and girls in Rugby League throughout Leeds. Through a partnership with Leeds City Council and many other key partners the female game has continued to grow in amateur clubs and most noticeably in secondary schools.Sian has a degree in Sports development and Education from Leeds Metropolitan University and on completing her studies she began a graduate trainee programme at the university, where her placements included the Athletic Union, Financial Services, Sporting Partnerships and University Sport.As well as her role at Leeds Rugby, Sian is also studying for a Masters in Sport, which she aims finish date July 2010. Sian is a keen sports woman and has played Rugby Union since the age of 9, representing the South West and was also part of the England Junior Development side. Upon moving to Leeds to begin University in 2005 Sian took up Rugby League and went onto captain England Student RL for two years. Sian also plays hockey and has played netball at county level.
